Ep 51: How to Change a Habit for Weight Loss: Follow-Up
Habit change is necessary for permanent weight loss. In Ep 17 of the Weight Loss for Fertility podcast, I walked you through a personal example of how I changed a habit: I stopped eating on the couch while watching TV and got comfortable eating at the table instead. Woo hoo!
Our old habits got us the weight we have today, so changing our weight means changing habits. In episode 17 I talked about the timeline of a behavior change and today, I show you what it looks like 6 months later.
Spoiler alert: It’s not perfect.
But it is normal and human.
This follow-up was inspired by a hard day when I found myself tempted to fall back into my old habit. I managed the urge with a little help from my husband. Listen in to find out why I call him my little Speed Bump 🙂
This episode shows you the evolution of a new habit. As it is strengthening, it also has moments of vulnerability. That’s ok. We expect these moments and learn to navigate them on our way to the new, even more solid habit.
