Ep 62: Weight Loss, The Work and Byron Katie: Part 2
This week is a continuation of last week's episode 61, so if you haven’t listened to that one yet, take a moment and go back to check it out before tuning in to this episode.
In this week's episode, we dive a little deeper into some of Byron Katie’s transformative work, specifically two exercises that changed me: The morning walk and the going home exercise.
- The Morning Walk - a silent moving meditation where one observes and names objects without judgment, training the brain to see things as they truly are
- Going Home Exercise - involves identifying qualities in someone we admire and finding those same qualities within ourselves, fostering self-love and compassion
These exercises help us retrain the brain to see things as they are without attaching value judgment and to promote self-compassion. These skills–essential for painless, permanent weight loss –also help improve all other aspects of our lives. It’s a win-win.
These two episodes are just the tip of the iceberg in terms of all of the information I could share from Byron Katie’s workshop. If you want to hear more, let me know!
